Welcome to my creative bubble

  • Who am I?

My name is Laura Ferrari. I am a Belgian painter.

I create dreamlike and poetic paintings.

By sharing my creations, I wish to transmit gentleness and serenity , with the hope that this can bring a little comfort and well - being around me.

  • Creativity has rocked my life in waves

As a child, in my free time, when I wasn't taking music theory, violin or classical dance lessons, I would draw... dresses, comic book characters with my brother, the plan of my dream house... More than anything, I loved to imagine and dream.

When I was eight, I wanted to be a painter.

At the end of my teenage years, I put aside my artistic aspirations in favor of a path at the antipodes: law. After proudly obtaining a Master's degree in law, then in notarial practice, I began working as a lawyer in a notary's office, then in an administration.

Except that… you can't change your nature.

So the wave of creativity has returned, like a necessity, like a lifeline. A way to channel my stress and express myself. A passion that fills me with joy and peace and that I take great pleasure in sharing.

  • Inspirations

My creations are nourished by my philosophical reflections, a quest for meaning and a search for freedom and lightness.

The Impressionists, especially Claude Monet and Berthe Morisot, inspire me a lot. I like their approach to colors and light. I am also touched by the idea of transmitting emotions through art. Furthermore, since childhood, I have been fascinated by the beauty of nature.

Finally, always expanding the boundaries of creativity, I started learning the harp a year ago. I am fascinated by the connections that can be made between different art forms.

  • An evolving practice

Curious by nature, I have nourished my practice with readings on creativity and art, but also with online training and a lot of trial and error.

My beginnings were devoted to the study of watercolor but I very quickly felt the call to explore as many techniques as possible (ink, pastel, gouache, oil, acrylic, mixed media, etc.). All these experiments have nourished my current use of acrylic paint. Indeed, inspired by the softness of watercolor, I play on an accumulation of thin layers of pigments to bring transparency and depth to my paintings.
